Though shampoos and conditioners don’t have some disinfecting properties per se, it’s nonetheless a good idea to clean your hair after moving outside. “I highly recommend that every time you go out of your house to purchase goods that are essential, you need to shower after — this includes washing your hair with a gentle shampoo and conditioner.” While the recommended frequency of washing your hair is around two to three times a week, Jof states it’s better to be safe than sorry. The good news is, if you are staying at home the majority of the time, this can be your opportunity to allow the natural oils perform its function to revive your hair and scalp.

One of the niftiest haircare tips while on lockdown is to scour your cupboard. There are a whole lot of hair maintenance substitutes just within your kitchen cabinets. Jof said in a blog article that things like used coffee grounds, apple cider vinegar, and coconut oil are his go-to natural hair care products for various reasons. Used coffee grounds are great for exfoliating your scalp from any item build-up. Meanwhile, apple cider vinegar is a great hair and scalp cleanser that can protect against dandruff and reduce frizziness. If your hair needs more moisture, coconut oil may revive even the dullest of hair strands. So before you lament about the condition of your tresses, assess your pantry for some possible remedies first.
Attempt some basic styling techniques
In this time of quarantine, you may give your hot styling tools that a break. Go for heatless selections such as loosely linking your hair for soft waves. Jof says folks should take this opportunity to experiment using hair items such as leave-in conditioner, hair serums and mousse to figure out which products work very well for your own hair.
